Spring has Arrived!

Continental Ponds News

Mother Nature has been wreaking havoc on our seminar schedule this Spring! But have no fear – if you were rained out of a seminar that you were looking forward to, we will be hosting many more this year! We are getting ready for our next event, our Night Pond Tour which will feature some of the most beautiful water features in our area at one of the best times to enjoy them – in the evening! Witness how a water feature can take on a whole new look with the perfect lighting and provide some of the greatest ambience available! For more information on this event, contact us!

Pond Cleanout Specials

If you have Continental Ponds perform your Spring Cleanout you will be entitled to several specials. These specials will only apply to those that fill out the cleanout request form and specify the product and quantity. This is one-time only and will be performed during your pond cleanout. So if you are planning on being on our night pond tour, now is the time to get those additional lights, marginal plants or just some bacteria. If for some reason you have not received a cleanout request form, please contact us.

Spring in Bloom...

Yes, the flowers are blooming, the birds are singing, the grass is green – but is your pond blooming and turning green too? It’s not uncommon at this time of year because while your pond may have looked like it was in a Winter slumber, there was definitely life going on and now it seems to be making up for lost time. What can you do? A Spring Clean Out may be in order to clean up some of the debris in the pond. In addition, we may recommend products such as AquaClearer Extreme, EcoBlast, and S.A.B. Extreme. For more information about these products and their benefits, contact us . For more information on the benefits and how-to’s of Spring Cleaning your pond, visit Aquascape’s Pond Lifestyle’s site.

Looking for Blooms?

Planting around your water feature serves several purposes – it helps prevent erosion, provides food and shelter for your backyard inhabitants (contributing to your ecosystem) and it looks great too. Sometimes it can be a daunting task to figure out what to plant where and how big it will grow. Check out Burpee’s Garden Wizard. You can pick flowers or fruit/vegetables, the amount of light you receive, and even if you want to plant it in a container. In general this is a great site for information on what and how to plant any area of your garden. Be sure to take a peek at ‘The Tip of the Day’ and the Growing Zone Finder which will help you feel confident you are picking the right materials for your area.
